Members of LSFD recognized for Outstanding Water Rescue

Council Meeting

Captain Chris Ellis, Firefighter/Paramedic Sean Mcallister, Firefighter/EMT Joe Godbey, and Firefighter/EMT Sean Breitenstein responded from Station 63 to investigate. Upon arrival, Captain Ellis and his crew quickly identified that the victim in distress was in danger, which required immediate action. The victim made clear that she could barely hang on the branch and would be swept away by the fast-moving water. Captain Ellis and his crew determined that this was a time-critical incident and the victim’s life was in danger. Captain Ellis and FF Mcallister quickly entered the water wearing personal flotation devices (PFDs) and throw bags (rope) to rescue the victim. Captain Ellis and FF Mcallister risked their own safety to successfully rescue the victim in distress.Due to the actions taken on 5/3/2019, the Loveland-Symmes Fire Department and the Loveland City Council recognized the bravery that these members displayed that evening.
